(More customer reviews)I did my research. I looked in stores, I looked online and I read reviews, which is why I prefer to shop online, you can't get customer feedback in a store.
The box was destroyed when it arrived. The FedEx guy was apologetic, said he got it that way, but it wouldn't have been so bad if it had been boxed properly at the source. When we got into the contents, there was no hardware and no instructions. I don't know if they got lost in transit or never were included. Luckily, my husband had the know-how and the hardware to get started, but the pieces didn't line up properly either. The handle on the reel was supposed to fit INTO the reel itself and be secured with a screw....no way was that going to happen without some work.
We finally got it together. It looks nice, is fairly sturdy and stays put when you wind it up, but overall, we don't recommend this product. Just too much trouble, especially if one isn't prepared to improvise, and supply their own screws and bolts.

Good Directions 457 Key West Hose Pot, Holds Up To 150-Feet of Hose Review

(More customer reviews)It's a good pot, though more brightly turquoise than I expected, so it's more obvious to the eye than I would have liked. That will change with time, I imagine. Funny enough, it is striking in its looks, so people ask what it's for - lol. So much for hiding the hose.
One thing I'd say is that this would never easily house a regular size hose (1") unless it's under 25 feet of it. You'd be better off buying a hose caddy and a portable fence or something like that, for a longer hose. When I saw the pot, knew we needed more than 25, so I opted for 50' coiled non-kink 1/2" hose with sprayer, and that fits with room to spare in there.

One reviewer mentioned lead. The paperwork does NOT mention lead. It does state this is for use other than drinking and should you want to drink from it use another product they sell. Aside from this, so what? We all drank from hoses as kids.
One reviewer mentioned it was a bit heavy but manageable at 25'. I wish I'd bought a 50' since it's actually a fairly light hose.
The hose is fine.

(More customer reviews)I really like these hoses. I have two, one is 50 feet and one is 100 feet. The hoses are sturdy, don't kink and the reinforcements near the attachments are brilliant. That is one of the areas where my old hose failed. It got crushed where it was wound up and so was permanently kinked. This hose hasn't kinked yet and it doesn't have the weird chemical smell when I run the water. When I need to replace my other hoses, this is the one I will buy.

(More customer reviews)I have a small farm and use lots of hoses. Of all I've tried, Gilmour hoses have been the best by far. They have superior, solid fittings; resist kinking the best (of hoses not specifically designed to avoid kinking); and have remained the most pliable with weathering. Best of all is Gilmour's lifetime warranty: should the hose ever fail to perform, just cut off the ends and send them to Gilmour and they'll send you a new hose. I've done this a couple times with no hassle. Other hoses want you to have saved the receipt, original packaging, etc. Who does that?
This really is "the last hose you'll ever buy."
