(More customer reviews)This product was pretty easy to assemble - the doors were a little difficult to get in place, but I had it together in less than 10 minutes with no tools. The only problem I have with this carrier is that it takes two hands to close and lock - the pins for the doors don't line up and you have to hand-guide them into the correct location to lock them in place. One of the two (top and bottom pins) generally hits the target on first attempt the other has to be guided into place. Otherwise it is well worth the money - looks good and easy to clean.

The only thing that would have made it better is if it had the ergonomic bend, but otherwise this was a good buy. I have used this during the 2010 Blizzards and it has worked fine.

(More customer reviews)I've had mine for a few winters now, and I've only had two minor issues with it:
1) the edge has worn down over time, since there is no metal guard like other models
2) depending on the type of snow, sometimes it sticks to the shovel, but I remedy that by spraying non-stick cooking spray on the shovel every now and then
Even though I have a few different types of shovels, I use this one the most. I have a long driveway with a wide end, and two long sidewalks to keep clear; this shovel makes it easy to get the job done without destroying my back like a metal shovel.
Afterwards, I recommend a cup of Swiss Miss Holiday Cocoa, 5 Assorted Flavors, 4-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 2).

(More customer reviews)I ordered this shovel way back on January 3rd (2009), waited almost a year to receive and when it arrived (December 18 2009), it was put to use. At first it would clean all the way down to the pavement but now, on Christmas Eve, the plastic is worn while the metal wear strip is practically virgin. That's because the genius who designed the shovel put the strip on the INSIDE of the shovel not the UNDERSIDE where it belongs and where it would be touching the pavement FIRST. I've found that in order to have the wear strip meet the pavement first, the angle needs to be steep. Had I realized that the wear strip is on the inside and not the underside, I would have never ordered it. I wanted a 27" wide shovel with a wear strip and was having a difficult time finding one locally. Now I'm stuck with a shovel that doesn't clean down to the pavement because the strip is in the wrong place. I am very disappointed with this product.

Suncast Resin Cathedral Fence Review

Also, to my surprise, the cast is "hollow" on the back side, so it really only works if no one sees the back. I guess, you get what you pay for. I decided to send it back (without any problems!) and eventually bought nice fences from Smith & Hawken.

The tightly woven wicker strands are made from durable polyethylene (PE) resin, which is designed to withstand fading, weathering, and aging within a temperature range of -70C (-94F) to 80C (176F) degrees. The washable wicker strands have a powder-coated finish with a modest sheen that easily sheds drizzle and accidental drips, and its looks will remain unchanged for three years under normal usage. The term "wicker" doesn't refer to a particular material, but a style of construction that weaves together stiff strands of fibers such as rattan, willow, and bamboo. Woven furniture has been around since ancient Egypt, but wicker is believed to have been given its name in Scandinavia--with wika meaning to bend and vikker meaning willow in Swedish. Wicker was first popularized in America in the 1850s, and was used extensively in the Arts and Crafts movement at the turn of the 20th century.

This shovel is strong and easy to use. The handle is wide enough to accommodate a thick ragg wool glove with ease. The wear strip is a nice extra when shoveling ice and hitting blacktop or concrete. I have a much cheaper shovel and don't trust it half as much as this one. The ergo design does help your back when lifting and pushing.
If you need a shovel and are thinking about it, buy this one -- it's great for fluffy and slushy snow. The capacity is pretty large -- so be mindful of your back.
